The Arts Dot 2019 was a collective art exhibition in the centre of Karlskrona. Artists from different countries have shown interest in participating and responded to the open call for the second edition of The Arts Dot. We received applications from Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Brazil, England, Spain, France, Germany, Turkey, Iran, Nigeria and Sweden. Artists from Brazil, Spain, Germany, France, Finland, Poland and Sweden (Blekinge and Skåne) participated and travelled to Karlskrona.
The event featured a range of programs such as art exhibitions, artist talks and conversations, live painting, a joint dinner on the opening day, and a networking after-party at the end of the event.
The event was supported by Karlskrona Municipality, the association Klaura pop-up Market, Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan, Centrumföreningen, Heimstaden, Simsalabim, ICA supermarket Cityhallen, Wachtmeister galleria, Tryck & Reklam Karlskrona, Micke Månssons Foto, Lanagraphic Design & Art Studio and Konstnären & Pinaulen.
OFFICIAL EVENT OPENING
Carl-Martin Lanér, the Municipal Director of Karlskrona, greeted attendees with warmth and enthusiasm. He delivered an inspiring opening speech, highlighting the importance of the exhibition and the vibrant community it represents.
ART EXHIBITIONS
The central joint exhibition took place in Wachtmeister Galleria. Five artists selected by the jury, also a winning artist of People’s Choice, received special recognition and a comprehensive art exhibition at the gallery Konstnären & Pinaulen on Björkholmsplan in Karlskrona.
ARTIST CONCLAVE
All participating artists were invited to a joint dinner at the local restaurant Montmartre after the official opening. At the end of the exhibition, we held a Networking After-Party at the gallery Konstnären & Pinaulen Björkholmsplan in Karlskrona.
ARTIST TALKS
Artists shared their stories and experiences, addressing questions such as: What makes artworks unique? Is that uniqueness related to our tastes? Can we all be unique today? What are the thoughts of both artists and the audience?

Jury’s Choice: Special Recognition and Artist of the Year.
Five artists expanded the art exhibition into a gallery space. From all the exhibitors, the jury selected five artists for a continued show in a central gallery in Karlskrona. One of these artists received a one-year gallery representation.
All participating artists were awarded a certificate of participation.
LIVE PAINTING
The audience experienced the opportunity to engage with or observe an inspiring workshop led by a talented local artist.
